The Voice of Lessons for Leading Ladies:
I am a working woman - a woman entrepreneur who has run a successful staffing and recruiting business for 25 years. I manage 50 people daily, and I am the visionary for the company. At the end of the day, everything ultimately falls on me. This business has defined who I am and has been my greatest love for a quarter of a century. It has also provided me with a deep sense of purpose, tremendous gratification, and a great amount of humor. Some of my funniest and greatest stories come from the years I have spent in this business climate engaging with a diversity of people from all levels of the corporate world.
I have successfully navigated through three recessions, September 11, 2001, and our most current economic meltdown of 2009/2010. Through all of this I have come out unscathed - a little tattered perhaps but none the less a survivor. However, I am also a mother and wife. I believe that I hold three full time jobs – everything having different demands, needs; some requiring immediate attention, daily attention, weekly attention with never ending to-do lists while laughing and crying along the way.
I never could have done these demanding jobs alone and have had to consult with entrusted business colleagues, friends, and family along the way to keep my sanity. If there is one thing that I have learned in 25 years of business and 47 years of life – You better surround yourself with remarkable people; never be afraid to ask questions or seek out advice and guidance, or find a damn good therapist.
The purpose of my blog is to make you laugh; maybe cry, make you appreciate and value who you are – who we are as women, save you some guilt, teach you to appreciate the multi-personalities that reside within us all and help you navigate through the turmoil and stress of being a working woman, mother, and spouse.
